Configuring of DHCP Server on Windows Server 2019 Datacenter
To ensure the VM operates correctly, you need to open UDP ports 67 and 68 in the Security Group in the AWS Firewall.
To connect to the Server, you should generate a “Private Key” in advance. This can be done using Guidance on usage
- To connect to the virtual machine, click the Remote desktop file from step 10 of the Guidance on usage
- In the window that appears, enter the password from step 12 of the Guidance on usage and click OK.
- Check the box and click Yes.
- To run DHCP, click the DHCP shortcut on the desktop.
- As you can see in the DHCP interface, there is only one server listed:
- Expand the server by clicking the left mouse button (LMB), then right-click (RMB) on IPv4 and select “New Scope” from the context menu.
- Enter “Name” and “Description” and click Next. Now you should configure the range of IP addresses. An example follows:
- In the next step, specify the range of IP addresses to be excluded from issuance.
- Next, specify the lease duration for the domain addresses issued by this server, then click “Next.”
- After that, click “Next.”
- In the following stage, specify the gateway address that will be issued. After adding it, click “Next.”
- You can also specify the parent domain and click “Next.” You may skip the WINS configuration step.
- Then click “Next”
and confirm the completion of the configuration.
