Connecting and Configuring Basic Oracle 9

After purchasing and starting the VM, you need to know its IP address, which you can find in your Amazon account.

  1. Connecting to the VM using the PuTTY application. You can download it at the following link – Download
    • In the left panel, navigate to the “SSH” section, and then to “Auth.”
  • In the “Auth” section, click “Browse” and specify the path to the .ppk file you received earlier.
  • Return to the “Session” home page, enter the IP address of the VM, and click “Open.”
  • In the opened console you will need to enter the login ec2-user.
  1. You can view the parameters of your virtual machine using the following commands:

$hostnamectl — General information

$cat /etc/*elease — Release information

$uname -r — Kernel version
